These invariably increase free radicals that lead to premature skin ageing and skin damage. Experts say that taking antioxidants can effectively prevent this and a common and easily available source is tea. The cosmetic specialist says, “Simple green tea is passe. White tea, rhubarb tea, licorice tea and others are in. These are packed with antioxidants and act as calming agents that are great for tired-looking, irritated and dehydrated skin.” The normal dark teas have a high amount of tannin, and so can be dehydrating, she states.

The Skincare professional says that dry and dull skin can get back its radiance with green tea moisturisers. A few spoons of green tea can hydrate skin, reduce scar marks, prevent acne, soothe dry skin and also help get rid of a tan. The cosmetic physician says, “Green tea is anti-inflammatory and soothes skin. It also keeps skin stay youthful by preventing premature ageing.”
